Meeting Title: SeaFit Health Event for Fishermen - Stronger at Sea

Meeting Description: In partnership with the Welsh Fishing Association, we are looking to plan a free health and wellbeing event for fishermen (retired and active) and their immediate family members on Pwllheli quayside, on the 17th March, between 10am and 4pm.

We would be looking for space as to close as possible to where the fishermen work for the dental van, ideally near to if a power supply, if available, for the van (although they do have a generator) and five or six other health services.

We will provide all the promotional posters and look to send out information to as many local fishermen as possible, including those in nearby ports.

SeaFit is a health initiative run by the Fishermen’s Mission and Seafarers Hospital Society aimed at improving the well-being of fishermen. Given the demanding nature of their work, we bring essential services directly to them at quaysides and harbours across the UK.

The dental van will provide immediate dental treatment and oral cancer checks, and would invite other services that include health checks, blood pressure checks stopping smoking, alcohol reduction, weight management, mental health support, community pharmacies, cancer information, or other occupation related health services.
