Plas Heli maintains a comprehensive set of safety documents to ensure the protection of all customers, visitors, volunteers, competitors, contractors, and catering staff. These documents support compliance with statutory requirements, RYA guidance, and local authority expectations.

Fire Risk Assessment
Full assessment covering fire hazards, mitigation measures, responsibilities, temporary accommodation considerations, and event‑specific controls.
Fire Evacuation Plan
Clear instructions for evacuation routes, assembly points, temporary structures, and procedures for caravans, motorhomes, campervans, and tents.
Event Safety Documentation
Event Safety Plan
The overarching safety plan for events, covering roles, communication, incident response, medical provision, safeguarding, and emergency arrangements.
Generic Event Management Plan
Standard operational plan for events, including site layout, traffic management, compound use, temporary structures, welfare, signage, and crowd flow.
For smaller events, roles may be combined. At minimum, the Event Manager, Principal Race Officer, and Event Safety Officer must be appointed. Full details are provided in the Event Safety Plan.

Nationally recognised risk assessment for sailing events and race management.
RYA Beach & Slipway Risk Assessment
Risk assessment covering beach operations, slipway management, and launch/recovery activities.

Risk assessment for race management, safety boat operations, and on‑water activities.
Local Authority & Compliance Documents
SAG Questionnaire
Completed Safety Advisory Group questionnaire for major events, supporting local authority compliance.
Safeguarding Policy
Policy covering child protection, vulnerable persons, reporting procedures, and RYA safeguarding guidance.
Online Accident Book
All incidents, injuries, and near‑misses must be recorded in the Plas Heli Online Accident Book. This ensures accurate reporting, supports post‑event review, and helps maintain compliance with statutory requirements.
Emergency Actions
- Raise the alarm: Activate the nearest alarm point and notify staff.
- Call 999: Request Fire and Rescue Service and state “Plas Heli, Pwllheli”.
- Evacuate: Follow signed routes and instructions from the Duty Manager or Event Safety Officer.
- Assembly Point: Proceed to the designated assembly point shown on the site map.
- Report: Inform staff of any missing persons or hazards.
