We are delighted to report that the marine works has started - the bund on the west side of the harbour has been constructed and the dredging is on-going and should be completed before Easter - although the dredging of the new area for the dedicated visitor and events berths, to the north of the marina, may take a little longer.
The whole of the marine works including the new quay will be completed in June this year. This photograph shows the construction of the new quay wall which will form part of the access to the new pontoons.
In addition to the dredging of the new Academy basin to accommodate the visitor and events pontoons and the maintenance dredging of the marina basin and chanel there is also a dredging campaign of the harbour entrance and this work has also started with the use of shore based machinery - see the photos below.
The storage shed for the user groups has almost been completed - this building is 12m by 28m and will be a great benefit to the growth of water sports including rowing, kyaking and of course, sailing.
Despite all of this building activity it is business as usual for Hafan Marina and the Sailing Club. For a taste of what is on please refer to the sailing club's web site.
