In 2003 it became clear that the people in North West Wales had limited access to outdoor activities in the magnificent countryside where they lived. As a result, opportunities for healthy lifestyles, securing employment and self-fulfilment were being missed.
Following several consultations with the private, public and voluntary sectors involved in the outdoors, a working group of representatives was established and a 3 year strategy was produced.
In April 2005, the North West Wales Outdoor Partnership was formally constituted and thanks to funding from the Welsh Assembly Government through the Sports Council Wales, 4 key members of staff were appointed in October 2005. Over the autumn period, we have begun to turn the vision of the strategy into practical reality.

Welcome to Pwllheli Rowing Club's Facebook page. We row from Abererch beach, and are members of the Welsh Sea Rowing Association (WSRA). We row for fun, but also take part in league races across Wales, and even rowed the Thames! The club has two Celtic Longboats (Madryn & Mererid) and three small boats (Yoles). Rowing is an excellent low-impact aerobic exercise. We welcome new members (regardless of experience or fitness) at any time, so what are you waiting for?
